Patrick Hartnett has practiced Business Litigation and Business Law for over twenty  five years. As an attorney Mr. Hartnett has represented subcontractors, suppliers, material-men, general contractors, developers, and public entities in construction, business and real estate matters while with the firm of Acret, Gropman & Turner. Mr. Hartnett served as General Counsel for the Building Industry Association of Southern California.

Mr. Hartnett’s practice emphasizes construction litigation, real-property, commercial landlord-tenant law, intellectual property law, computer and telecommunications law, employment disputes, business transactions and litigation arising under the False Claims Act (State and Federal).

With an emphasis on Business law, Mr. Hartnett prides himself on a practice which assists business in turning the “American Dream” into a reality. He has successfully prosecuted claims against general contractors, public entities, public works projects, as well as claims against major developers.

Mr. Hartnett received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University. While in law school, he was the Business Editor of the Santa Clara Computer and High-Technology Law Journal. He is also a member of the American, Los Angeles, and Orange County Bar Associations as well as an affiliate member of several construction and development trade associations. He is active in legislative advocacy to correct laws and judicial opinions which are not conducive to a free, fair and just business climate in California.    

Mr. Hartnett frequently lectures on construction contracts and mechanic’s lien law. Mr. Hartnett is a trained independent mediator.
